Arzoo was conceived in the aftermath of Gujarat 2002 riots to provide love and guidance to the riot affected children.
It aspires to bridge the gap that was created between the Hindus and the Muslims during the violence. Arzoo tries to bring the children of both the communities together and help them in building skills for a bright future.
The thrust of Arzoo is to be the part of riot affected children in providing them with the much needed mental support and help them in getting over the trauma they experienced first hand.
In carrying out this responsibility, Arzoo, closely interacts, networks and collaborates with the like minded organizations, parents and elders of the community. This close collaboration and networking not only helps in building sustained relationship with the children but also facilitates lasting camaraderie between the communities.
Coverage Area of Arzoo
At present the efforts of Arzoo is confined only in the few areas of Ahmedabad city i.e. Behrampura and Vatwa. Localities covered by Arzoo are Mohandarji Nu Chali, Kasai Ki Chali, Jethalal Ki Chali, Allah Nagar, Gyasiram Ki Chali and Doodhwali Chali. Arzoo aspires to cover many more areas around Behrampura and Vatwa. But as of now it is not possible due to paucity of resources and staffs.
